Not sure what’s going on with Baby,
Her hair looked disheveled yesterday and she had a bath, she struggles to groom herself and I have Vet Prescribed shampoo for her.

I noticed her anus looks almost swollen?
I’m not sure if I’m imagining it but it doesn’t seem right, don’t know if I’ve just been looking at other piggies bottoms too much at the moment and hers is just more stuck out naturally.

But today I noticed she’s making this weird grinding/clicky sound.
It’s not when she’s breathing but almost as a vocal sound, like she would usually but different, I know she had a very deep voice for a guinea Pig according to the vet so I don’t know if this is a normal vocal noise that sounds weird because of her low pitch anyway.

When I looked at her anus today I had a bit of a feel and it doesn’t feel swollen and soft it’s almost hard, like bone which is throwing me off a little bit
I’m going to get her out in a bit and have a little time just cleaning round it and checking it out some more so shall take some photos then

Any idea what’s going on?

If you are worried, please see a vet; especially when you think her genitalia are swollen. They can stick out more in small and elderly piggies, but they should not be swollen.

The clicky sound is likely from a slightly blocked nose. guinea pigs can't breathe through their mouths so you hear every little thing that is stuck in the nose very audibly. It should hopefully be gone again in a few hours after a good sneeze.

My guinea pig dot made a grinding clicking sound . It was coming from her mouth . I never did find out what it was but she stopped doing it after quite a while, If you notice any lack of appetite or crusty eyes and nose . See a vet or if your worried see a vet anyway. It could be a sign of pain.

Also pneumonia can cause a clicking noise, ive had a gerbil and a guinea pig with this and its everytime they breathe out. Any abdominal breathing?
