i have two male guinea pigs who are both in their “prime” so humping is a common thing.
my older guinea pig digby is the only one i have seen to excrete boar glue and it always happens to be on my younger guinea pig winston.
when this has happened before i managed to get it out with scissors and a warm cloth but this time it has stuck the hairs together and i believe is pulling on his skin and he is showing signs of discomfort. I always have guinea pig shampoo on hand, apart from right now as the place i get it from was having shipping problems. I understand how damaging baby shampoo can be but i was wondering if there was any leeway on that, i have a unscented baby shampoo i was wondering if i could use a tiny bit of. I was wondering if diluting it would make a difference.
My boys have only had a couple bum baths when they get dirty but this time i need to go further up. Would diluted baby shampoo be acceptable one time? Or would mildy hot water be a start.

Once dried washing it off is not likely to work. Cutting it out or leaving it to fall off on its own is the normal course of action. If he is in discomfort, then I’d be more inclined to get a vet to cut it out rather than try washing it off, which I’m not sure would work.

My guide may help you.

An Illustrated Guide to Hair Cutting

If you are at all unsure I would ask the vet to cut it out as already advised by @Piggies&buns.
Thanks, i got a little more out and have a vet appointment later. :)
