Baby guinea pig weight

Hi all,
I got 2 baby sows a few days ago being told they are 6 weeks and 7 weeks old, I’ve just weighted them for the first time and they are 82g and 85g, having done some reading this would be very underweight, I’m worried they are not gaining weight properly or are much younger, any advice?

Welcome to the forum and the wonderful world of guinea pigs. I am by no means an expert, especially when it involves pups but that does sound like they are very small. Someone with more knowledge will be along soon.
What are their names? I have Dignified Sir George and Mischievous Master Boris.

I’ve just weighed them again on the floor and not the sofa and it’s a lot higher (my bad!) they are nesta who now weights 293g who’s is 6 weeks and Leto who now weights 319g and is 7 weeks

Hi and welcome yes you need a solid surface to weigh them on even carpet won't give an accurate reading
