Hello!
Long time lurker here.

I have owned guinea pigs for years now but have always had older piggies.
Yesterday i got 2 baby girls was told they are bit over 5 weeks.. They are super cute but i weighed them today 1 was 156 grams other was 192 grams.

I'm thinking that's quite small for a 5 week old but as they are my first babies (never owned a piggy under 6 months) I'm not sure? I have tried googling but there is alot of different info.
Can anyone give me a rough weight they should be please & thankyou!

Yes it’t quite small for 5 weeks old piggies. Possibly they are a bit younger or they have many siblings so the couldn’t gain weight.
There’s no right or wrong weight as long as they gain weight everything is fine. Some piggies gain weight faster and some slower.
By the way I love your guinea pig it’s so cute.

Thankyou! I'll keep an eye on their weight.
She is a cutie!

What a cute floofy potato you have there!:love::love: I may be around one night with my piggie napping torch and my coat with the deep piggy sized pockets!:bal: Don't lock the doors I wouldn't want to wake you up!

So cute myou nearly 5 week olds are between 300 350 g . And double that size xx

When I got Bill and Ted at 5 weeks they were 227 and 218 grams, as long as they keep putting on weight and eating well they should be fine, just keep a note or spreadsheet so you can keep a record

They are definitely eating well. I will keep weighing them thankyou.

They could just be little runts. A better way to tell is to feel their body. Can you feel their bones? Ribs, waist, or spines? If it feel pretty meaty then it should be okay :) If they're eating hay, drinking, and poo'ing as normal, then it should be fine. If you're real concerned, you may want to think about a quick visit to the vet - though I have never taken guinea pigs that young to the vet, so take the advice with caution!

Mura was about 350g at 3 months old, which I'm not sure if it's normal, but he was definitely a little runt! He is now at a healthy 920-ish grams at 3 years old. Still smaller than the others, the poor guy is just naturally skinny compared to his plump 1,200g brother :)

They are a little bit bony but nothing that's alarming me.
They eat really well & there's definitely nothing wrong with their pooping 😂😂

They have been gaining around 25/30 grams a week not sure if that's enough but it's a gain & they haven't lost anything.

I had the vet at my house checking on another piggy who wasn't well & she had a quick look at the girls she agreed they were very small but perfect health said i could look at a high fat diet if i was concerned, but at this stage they seem fine 😊

As long as they're gaining then my guess is it will probably be fine ^.^ They may grow up to be cute little runts in the future!
