Jayne.

I have 3 baby guineas & two of them are fine but Toby is like a dog weeing on a tree - he has to wee absolutely everywhere & I do mean everywhere.
I actually can't put them on the floor now as he makes little messes all over the place (I have cream carpets!),, as well as all over Freddy & Timmy.
I've had 3 boy guineas before these 3 & not one of them did this.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

It's as if he gets so excited & has to race around weeing everywhere,, just like a dog does on a walk.

I'd love them to be able to have floor time!

aww bless him.!

I cant help I'm afraid. How about putting a couple of blaknets down to catch the wee and restrict the area space a bit?

My pigs have a room but when I am out they are closed in a section. When I let them roam the room the pee every where especially if I have just mopped rolleyes it is like they are scenting...silly pigs

i have two boys and they wee all over the floor! I went to a local charity shop and brought a few second hand towels and a couple of old sofa throws and I put them down on the floor now to avoid having to mop the laminate floor! carpets...thats a different kettle of fish...I dont have any that can not be rolled up lol

Hi i use towels during playtime :)
I also know of a few people who use a children's swimming pool and put towels etc.. in these it's then in one area and easy to clean up, if a little seeps thru it goes onto the plastic swimming pool not your carpet.
Cheeky boy leaving you little presents ;)

Thanks for all the replies!

It's something I've never had to think about - Felix & Bruce would roam the entire flat because they never wee'd anywhere or ate wires & would always come running if I called for them.

These babies have lots of learning to do haha!

Hi:

I wrote this post about potty training for piggies a while back. It won't work every time and some piggies just like to pee everywhere, especially boys. So you will want to get some blankets or other cover for your floors. I hope this helps though.

BTW How had it worked for you having 3 boars? This almost never works out...

Well I got them all at the same time & they're only 3 months old so I've still got the teenage years to come,, but I'm confident it'll work out. There cage is 3x6 so they have ample space & luckily, Toby has always been the dominating one & Timmy & Freddy haven't yet shown any interest in trying to rival him. I'm hoping I won't have to separate them as they love each other so much.

Hi, i use a childs playmat for my boys. Its a road for cars :)) It was only a fiver in Ikea and it has a carpet top and a waterproof bottom, and can go in the wash. Its brilliant, we have sections of wood that my husband put legs on so we make a little area.

My girls are just as bad. Peppa peed all over my foot yesterday the mucky girl :)>>>:)) I have to use one of the blankets that I use for the cage on the floor. Or else run round with kitchen towel behind them. Luigi drags his bum all over my floor too:))

Wow that's a really good idea! :))

Haha aww! If only we could tell them there was no need to mark territory on the carpets!
