Update-- I had to go out and when I came back 4 hours later they were both very protectively cuddled in the corner together. They were so still I thought they were dead. Cleopatra (brown and white abby) did not move at all even when I petted her and put her eye medication in. Zilly, the black abby, did fidget just a pinch, but remained still. I did notice all the hay was gone and so was half the food. I just hope they are BOTH eating and not just Zilly, who seems only slightly more active. Then I gave them a pigaloo for comfort--I had not done so before because one of the bonding posts said no confined places. But obviously the are the best of friends. Anyway, I was so sure Cleopatra was dead I almost prepared the kids and went to get a towel to take her out. When I came back to the cage they were both on the other side of the kitchen in the pigaloo, all cuddled. Cleopatra has one eye closed, so I hope her conjunctivitis is not very serious and improves soon. Gosh, I have not even had them one day and now I know what it means to be a guinea pig slave!
