Azithromycin - accidentally kept of out fridge

Hello All,

I accidentally left my azithromycin (spelling?) out of the fridge for more than a few hours. It’s back in the fridge, but my guinea pig is due his dose tomorrow before I can ring the vets. It says to keep in the fridge, so does anyone know if it’s good for a few hours at room temperature? No worries if you don’t, I’ll be ringing the vets anyway to check.

I've never kept it in the fridge and it has always been fine.

I've just checked the box and all of says is not to store above 30 degrees

Thanks for replying, it’s a bit of a relief. The batch the vets made up was dilute from tablet, so that might be why they’ve insisted on fridge storage. My piggy is on so many meds right now, I just forgot to pop it back after he had it this morning.

Take a deep breath; there is no need to keep it in the fridge as long as it is stored where the sun can't reach.
