So I got a New Guinea pig today and I noticed that I can hear her breathing if the room is quiet and I am close to her. She seems very healthy otherwise and there’s no crackling. Is this normal? Can some Guinea pigs just make some noise when they breathe? It almost sounds like sniffing

Welcome to the forum

As she is a new piggy, having a vet check carried out by a vet anyway is always wise.
However as she is very new, she is possibly breathing a bit harder due to being scared.

If she is under four months of age please ensure she is bonded in with your other piggies straight away (following the correct neutral territory bonding process). Youngsters should not be quarantined or kept alone.
If she is over four months of age, then she should ideally be quarantined in a separate room for two weeks before bonding with existing piggies.

Hello and welcome to the forum. How is your piggy today?
