Hi, I wondered if anyone uses Aubiose bedding and do you recommend it? I would use it in a litter tray indoors or underneath hay and straw outdoors? Where do you buy Aubiose from?
Many thanks,:)

I use Aubiose in litter trays and I think it's fantastic for litter trays . I either put a layer of hay or fleece on top as I find Aubiose a bit spikey to be used as a top layer.

I use either Fitch or fleece in the rest of the cage.

I get my Aubiose from a local equine supplier . My local pet supplies will get it in for me if I am prepared to wait a few days.

It's worth looking on the website to see if there is a stockists near you...

I second Aubiose! Very absorbent and lets all the wee filter through to the bottom leaving the top nice and dry! :)

Does anyone recommend Aubiose? I was thinking of using it underneath straw and hay for my outdoor piggies!:)If you don't use or recommend t what bedding do you use?:)

There are a few members that use aubiose, I personally use megazorb, nice and soft and very absorbent. My girls love having hay spread over the top to play in and they always seem to be cosy. They are indoor piggies but I'm sure it would be suitable outside too. Straw is a bit too course for piggies, danger of eye pokes so would avoid it if I was you.

I use straw because the pets@home straw is very soft. There is no way I would use sharp straw (like horses use) for my piggies! If you could see how soft the straw is then I bet you would agree with me! I will try megazorb!:)

I don't think you are listening to use here, straw, any thickness, sharpness, texture, colour, is NOT suitable as a bedding in any way, shape or form. It is not safe to use.
I will try to be as nice as I can saying this, but, there is no point asking this question only for you to ignore fact endangering piggies lives. ;)

Thanks, I will stop using straw, but my parents want me to use it as it is cheaper than hay! My Dad has bought a 20kg bale of Aubiose for £10 at my riding stables! He is really impressed with it so we are going to carry on using it!:)

Just a quick question, on the packet it says to sprinkle some water over the bedding so it become's like a sponge? Does anyone do this and do you need to?:)
Thanks!

Hopefully, now you have found a cost effective bedding , your Dad won't mind so much about getting hay instead of straw.

Yeah, he thinks it is much better than the pets@home wood shavings I used to use when I didn't know much about guinea pigs! Because of all the dust from the woodshavings Poppy started sneezing so now I have learnt my lesson!:)

The pets @ home in my town tells customers that their hay any hay is not safe for guinea pigs. I know this as I was the customer
