A few threads on here have made me feel I should switch from Snowflake wood shavings to something else? I like the idea of easibed right now, but Aubiose looks good too :D if I used an easibed 20kg bag for a 2x7 c&c, would I still have a lot left over?

Yes you would have a lot.
ATM I have both.
Aubiose is smaller and gets stuck in bums.
Easibed is cheaper by around £3 and is a bit bigger.
I prefer easibed although they are basically the same really.

Thanks for the help :) I'll try to get easibed offline as I need to clean them out soon, but I'll probably have to order on eBay. There's this really enthusiastic place near me that stocks pet stuff, and they're just like "Bedding! In! Forty! Eight! Hours! !" They just me make feel so motivated just looking at them hah

I can recommend Aubiose, never tried Easibed so that sounds interesting. Is it more dusty? What is it derived from? Hemp? Wood? Something else?

One other thing though - there's lots of useful info and advice on here which might make you decide to change bedding (and we used to use wood shavings before hearing about other alternatives on here and I feel we have benefitted enormously from advice on here) but please dont feel pressured - everyone's situatuons are different.

It is less dusty I think.
It is made of 'wood fibre'.

As long as it isnt scented with anything it should be fine for Guinea Pigs. A lot of beddings for horses are scented with eucalyptus/cintrine to prevent them from eating it apparently, however there is a poultry equivelent to easibed which would be fine. I can vouch for aubiouse which i have used for some time, other good alternatives are sundown or unibed poultry which are hemcore based beddings. I also use unibed and really like it, it is soft, absorbant and the bits are bigger than aubiouse. I have x3 6x2 hutches and a sack on aubiouse or unibed usually lasts me about a month or just over. If i mix the two then it lasts a good few months as you dont need a super thick layer for it to be effective. It is far easier toclean up than woodshavings too.

I also reccomend aubiose, it is what I used before I switched to fleece and I still use it for my gerbils. I love it.

Ive also just come across the easibed bedding and looks practical and i guess @Maisy and Poppy if your saying its ok then it must be, but it does look hard and I'm concerned about splinters or pokes…...

Sorry, I didn't see this! To explain a little more with a little more detail, easibed can feel a little sharp, but it's no worse than woodshaving which I find is more dangerous with a lot of sharp wood I find in there sometimes. You do have to be a little careful of plastic or something tiny bits, but they're noticeable enough to find them, usually bright red. It's because it's a horse bedding so the manufacturers are a little less careful I suppose. Anyway, it really improved my piggies feet/paws (they were kinda crusty from the woodshaving sucking moisture from their feet). You might find it not as good as what you might be on right now, but it might be worth trying it out. :)

thank you @CarnivalPiggy i spoke to easibed and they sent me a sample, and i will be giving it a swerve.
Mine popcorn alot and ide be concerned of them poking selves on a random bit in hutch
