Earlier today while I was cleaning, Finnian, my piggie, got a hold of my stretch cord I use to make bracelets. I don't know how much he ate, but he ate it. I was watching him for poop, and he did. He's eating and drinking the same as always, and now, he's eaten it again. I was telling my mom that he ate it, but she didn't believe me and put it in front of him. Sure enough, he started eating it. Again, I'm unsure how much he ate it's like a plastic or rubber-ish cord that I had out because I was planning on using. What should I do? Just keep watching him? Do you think he'll be okay? I don't have enough money to take him to the vet right now, as I don't get paid until next Friday. Here's the cord: image.webp image.webp

Just keep on watching to make sure he is pooping and behaving as normal. The only danger is that it could potential cause an intestinal blockage, but that thread looks far to small for that to be a significant worry. If it makes you feel better, once my kids left the bag of hay too close to the bars and one of my pigs managed to reach it and ended up eating a big hole in the plastic bag of hay, and even that passed through without being a problem.

Since rodents don't have a vomit reflex, all you can to is watch him closely and if necessary rush him to the vets if suddenly looks very ill and goes off his food. They have pretty tough guts, though.
