I’m at a complete loss with my two boys at the moment. For 3 days they’ve been stress squeaking and screaming at each other and chasing. I’ve put the divider in a few times but as soon as it’s taken out it’s back to this. Noticed a clump of ozzys hair in the hay which worried me as well

Heat?
Hormones?

Perhaps go back to basics. A couple of days apart and let things settle and then try neutral territory reintroduction (not just removing the divider)

Think it’s both. Got both the window and door open (had window open but certains semi shut because didn’t want the heat on them. Opened curtains and everything now with divider and ice packs wrapped in towels in. I took a video of what’s been going on for 3 days, sound is mainly the give away

I will do this :) sorry forgot to respond to this, just worn out from them today!

Mine have been the same! Well 2 of the girls have been little 🐮 bags.... poor Daisy is the only good one ! I am blaming the heat and hormones!

That does not sound like a happy piggy and the body language:yikes:

Nope it’s horrible to listen to :( with ozzy running off and teeth chattering and Bruno chasing him while they’re BOTH screaming!

Sorry you’re going through it as well! I’ve got the divider in and Bruno is snuggling on an ice pack. Maybe that chills him out a bit x

I do think that the heat has something to do with it. Tempers get very easily frayed (mine included).

I think so as well, Bruno hasn’t moved from his ice pack since I put it in there bless him. I did give their fur another trim because noticed they still had some winter bits that looked way too warm for them. Bloody heat! My temper does as well lol :) x

My boys have been like this too! The underpig has been squeaking in distress on and off for the past few days while it's been so hot. I'm going to steal your ice pack idea, they have a frozen bottle and window open/blinds drawn all day already

I'm glad to know it's likely the heat. I hope your boys settle down with the ice pack/new measures and let's hope the weather cools down soon! (I too cannot wait, it's far too humid for me so I don't know how the poor floofs are coping)

best of luck with your boys! xx

Update on my two: I think it was the heat! And Bruno being very very hairy, thought I’d done a good job trimming him but had another look and found enough hair to make another Guinea pig entirely. Gave ozzy another trim - they are both now as beach ready as they’re going to allow. Cleaned the cage out today - during floor time they played together and went back together in the cage nicely. Now just back to humping and being boys. Huge relief x

What a relief! Glad they’ve settled down. My boys are calmer too with it being slightly cooler so fingers crossed it was indeed just the heat!
