Assembling C&C?

The round bits fit your grid together and then reinforce them with the cable ties (but not until you are true.y happy with your set up!) it’s a slog but it will be worth it in the end! Wine may help too!

Good luck! My new grids have jsut arrived too. I don't use the round connectors, just the cable ties. I found the connectors gathered dust and kept popping off.

The first one I built, I just used cable ties. The next time I used the connectors and found them better, the cage was more sturdy and looked nicer, but yes, they do collect dust and some stubborn ones do like to pop off!

I ended up wearing thick gloves to pop the connectors in place because they started making my hands really sore :(

You can search youtube for videos of people assembling C&C cages and this will probably help more than the wine ;)

Good luck!

Ok I made the 5x2, without even opening the wine! Took me a few minutes to see that the connectors have places on the edges to clip grids in too. But the 5x2 looks really narrow, especially with the 2 grid height at the sides... might make the loft into a little side extension instead and use it as a big hay tray? I decided against using the stand so I still have 18 spare grids and connectors left I think :)

Goodness, you did that very quickly. Those grids won't be spare for long! I'm about to start turning my pile of grids into two pens for the shed ready for when I start painting the kitchen in 2 weeks time.

Ta da! This is my 5x2 and 5x3 L-shaped C&C cage :) I decided to build use the loft to widen the cage on the left hand side at the food/toilet end and I plan to use it as a big hay tray. I still apparently have yet another box of grids and connectors left (good job I cant count and/or couldnt be bothered making the stand!) so if we end up with a bigger herd all I need to do is buy more correx :)

We still have 3 weeks to go until Theo is 6 weeks post plum fairy op and everyone can live together so the new cage assembly might be a bit premature... but we are going to meet 2 new lady piggies tonight who might be joining the herd so its good to check out how the cage will fit and where we can expand it!

Looks really good, I love your purple corex.
C&C is so versatile, your cage reminds me of my first one, a 5x2 with lid. We didn't use the lid and it soon became 5x3 with taped together bits of corex!
