as a new piggie mummy I would like to know those of you who have piggies that go outside, at what time of the year (I'm in the UK) do you stop putting piggies on the lawn? what temps can they cope with and when to think about letting them have floor time indoors rather than out on the lawn? I would idealy like to put them out for a couple of hours a day as long as its dry....mine seem to love being on the grass and they have only been with me for 3 weeks, previous owners only had a hutch and they did not have acess to a lawn area. thanks.

Hello, my guinea pigs have always lived outside, I bought them just over a year ago, they have a double hutch and an Eglu ( look at my video on YouTube)
Apart from mid-winter or when the grass is wet they go on the grass but that is if I 've got them in their Eglu which has proper insulated housing attached so they can stay inside if they want.
Hope you get plenty more advice.
Simone

It depends on the temperature and weather, I put my piggies out as long as it's not too chilly, if you feel cold with a cardigan on then it's proberbly too cold for them.

It can still be mild in october so as long as it's not damp or wet on the grass I don't see why they can't go out until then:)
