I got so sick of sweeping up the fleece tonight after doing Tiger and Amy's cage, that George and Tia's fleece and towels went straight from their cage in the bin! I was fed up of it so poured megazorb into the cage instead! I know I will regret this but I had enough at the time! My back kills after doing the sweeping each day and it all got too much.

I'm sure george and Tia will appreciate it though, they are playing in the playpen for now but when I put them back in I'm sure they'll be excited about the new flooring :))

I'm probably going to end up buying some more fleece and towels in a few weeks now :))

Fleece drove me mad too. I still have some that I use occasionally, but picking out hay was a real pain. x

Yes, hay is the worst pain, I just got sick of wood shavings ending up on the floor everytime I pulled them out. Fleece is kind of gross but you can't explain the feeling of joy when you put a fresh one out and they are popcorning. My two are so much happier on fleece.

Hope yours like the megazorb...never used that myself so have no idea what it is!

I'm sure they will be fine on the megazorb. Ive just recently changed to fleece and the piggies love it. However one of my piggies is on megazorb. It is the most absorbent bedding and keeps the smell down. Its all about what works best for you. I had been using vetbed, but no matter how much I shook them they still came pout the wash looking grubby.

Pretty much - only you buy it in MASSIVE sacks and it's much cheaper.

I do one week fleece one week shavings. I find that way, I dont get sick of one or the other as quick! And it keeps the piggys amused aswell because the cage is different every week. I have to admit though, ilove it when i put on a brand new clean fleece :))

I am sorry it didn't work out for you Briony, I hope they take to their Megazorb instead!

Fleece works fabulously for some people, and not at all for others. Similarly, while many find the traditional hay and newspaper works great for them I find it difficult just in the small hay trays I give my lot, and the don't spend that much time in them! The few times in the past I tried the whole cage with it I ended up changing it out within a day. :))

I'm sorry too it didn't work out for you. I'm sure your pigs will be just as happy with Megazorb instead! Maybe you can give them smallish cuts of fleece to play with, sleep on or burrow under if you think they'll miss it?

But we're all different, I think it's easy to spot clean the fleece. I use a little metal cat litter scoopy thing and keep a small bin by the cage for the droppings. It's the paper cat litter I keep in the hay crate that drives me nuts, but I wouldn't change to fleece there anyway because I hate picking hay from the fleece.
