Are they one step closer to being toilet trained?

When the weather is not so good, Connie and Eliza come inside in to their indoor run which is a fenced off area of the kitchen floor. We do this because it is tiled so not too hot for them and it is easy to mop any wee up. The problem is that the wee goes everywhere and they end up walking in it etc. We was going to get them a litter tray to see if they'd use it but all the ones we have seen have been on the deep side. This is going to sound wrong but we have brought them a small flat baking tray to see if they would use it. They're in their indoor run at the minute and have both done a wee in the baking tray. Do you think that this is just a one off or do you think that they realise what it's there for?

You nver know it could be a one off or they could realise what they have to do or they like that spot to pee or poo in.
What you could do if it is a one off you could once they have done a pee place them in the tray and see what they do they should understand that is were they go toilet.

You might be lucky and your girls will toilettrain. One wee in the right spot doesn't mean though the work is done, could have been just plain lucky.
As for the wees.... you might use some absorbent material ie. newspaper or towel in the run to stop the stuff from running everywhere.

You could be lucky and find that they know what its for. I have two boars and they both have lots of free time out of the cage, i put newspaper down in the corner and they always pee on that - they poop everywhere but they always pee on the paper!
