plus I love the door on the kids on too! I am short so would be ok for me!lol

ok have no idea how to post a poll ... so just state your preference here if you would be so kind :)

I did it! I posted my first Poll! see links on first bit of thread! 8)

The kids house as it looks cuter although the other one would let in more light. My shed looks boring but it was the only one that would fit in our tiny yard.

I'm currently filling it with pink girly thing and now the weathers getting colder, they're slowly having their girlie cosies and fleeces back :(|)

thanx claire, that one would fit really nicely on my deck, I may get some fairy light to go on it for xmas!lol goning ot make the decision tonight after everyones input! ;)
ps your shed was my inspiration! xoxo

Aww :) I now have a string of solar fairy lights going around the outside of my shed (now called cavy manor) that come on when it gets dark.

Personally, I would go for a regular shed over a playhouse. I considered the latter as it would look less obtrusive, but I'm very glad I went for the former now as there is room for me to have storage shelving up out of the piggies way. Plus it's very nice to be able to walk-in, I'm only 5'1" but I would definitely have to stoop to access a playhouse.

It sounds like your budget is pretty similar to mine, have you seen the one I bought? It was £300 and still has the opening window that you like, plus it's larger than the two you've mentioned at 7x7. I bought it from here: http://www.shedstore.co.uk/wooden-garden-sheds/shire-sheds/abri/shire-abri-apex-shed-7-by-7

It looks really nice when finished, have a look at my thread here for some ideas on what you could do with it: http://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=96313

Hope this helps. :)

it would be good if you could make the windows open if they dont already as sheds with windows can get warm and muggy in hot weather so if they don't open, it might be worth seeing if you can alter them to be like house windows so you can let fresh air in and maybe put some sort of net curtain or mesh over the inside to stop flies? I don't know how much of a problem that is or could be as my pigs are indoors but just a thought (and as long as the hutched are secure inside the shed of course) :)
I like them both though!

yeh think your right, went to B&Q just to see the sizes in real life and will have to vito both of these, as the kids on is just too small and the bigger one has no opening window, we are seriously looking now at the one you have. The company you bought from were there any issues at all? thx alot :)

No, they were very good. The estimated delivery time was 10 working days, but it arrived in 5 which was lovely. I did give them a call before ordering as I'd read some horror stories online, but they assured me problems were few and far between. The shed is delivered direct from the manufacturer, so you don't really deal with the company you order from apart from to give them your money lol.

I will say though, ignore the "sale ending" countdown timer at the top of their site. When the timer runs out, they just restart it the next morning again, it's just a tactic to get you to hurry up and buy.

Also, the dimensions of the shed listed on their site are the wrong way round. It's slightly wider than it is deep, this meant we had to adjust the patio we'd built because we needed to squeeze it into a very small space.

A couple of days after we ordered, I got an email inviting me to choose a delivery day via their online booking system. Then the day before, I got a text message telling me the time slot. The driver phoned me on the morning of delivery to say he was running 90 mins late, but it still arrived within the scheduled time slot. It was all very efficient.

I think it's definitely a good idea to view some sheds in the flesh before buying one. We went to B&Q after buying ours and I was so glad we'd spent a bit more and bought a good quality shed, the cheap overlap ones they had looked very flimsy and a couple even had holes in the floor where peoples feet had gone through them! Not ideal considering I wanted to put a heavy hutch inside.

I'm extremely happy with the quality of the shed and it doesn't feel flimsy, most importantly the floor is nice and strong. And the opening window is really nice, we're going to put a mesh curtain behind it so that in the hot weather there is plenty of ventilation.

The instructions for building it are a bit crap and are clearly wrong in a couple of places. It's not difficult to figure out, but will make you scratch your head a few times lol.

Let me know if there's anything else you need to know. :)
