is leaking urine (like when being picked up), squeaky wees (most recent being red in colour) and passing small amounts of urine more frequently tell tale signs of an infection or could this be caused by stones too?

it can be both.youre best going to a cavy savvy vet to check out these symptoms, and let the vet guide for treatment.first line of treatment is usually for a urine infection.if this treatment is not effective,2nd line of treatment is to do xray, rule out bladder stone, possibly sludge.

thankyou, i didn’t know that the symptoms could be either, i was hoping it would just point towards UTI but nearly 4 weeks of 2 different ABs i don’t think it's looking good😞 she keeps getting better then downhill again, i will contact the vet tomorrow and discuss getting her in for xrays once again, thankyou x

I hope you get to the bottom of this.just remember it may well not be stones,it's just it has to be ruled out.3rd option after ruling out and aliminating the 1st 2 options.it could be possible for ic,but one step at a time. The vets will be able to explain.
