I want to do a photoshoot with the girls using a carved out pumpkin that ill sit them in.

Ive seen other people do it but I just want to make sure that it wont harm them. I wont let them eat any and I will line the inside with cloth so that they dont get any juice on their fur..

if you manage it please tell me your secret-mine start devouring it before I can get them to all pose! it's fine for them to eat in moderation.

I know pumpkins are safe, excluding the seeds and inner stringy bits, but I bought some pumpkins labelled "carving pumpkins" from Sainsbury's, are these safe for piggy consumption?

yep it's all a marketing ploy! the larger they are the tougher & less sweet they can be, but I roast mine and it still tastes delicious :D

Ive never eaten pumpkin myself so my pigs have been missing out on it, ill do the shoot tomorrow and see if they try and eat it :) x

Only feed pumpkins and marrows (an only those bits that you would eat) that are edible for humans.
You can still use carving pumpkins for a photoshoot, but they should not be fed to the piggies afterwards. it will not poison them if they nibble on them.

I haven't tried mine with pumpkin but my chickens love the seeds and stringy bits!
