Hi All,

I am worried about my piggies. The first boy Max is not bad when I hold him, but after a while he starts to nibble my clothes. How do I get him to stop? I really love holding him, but if I leave him I am going to have lots of holes in my tops.

My other boy Milo will never sit still! I tried holding him and he runs all over me and will not sit and let me stroke him. Is there any way I can train him to be more calm or docile? I really want to bond with them and love them so much. I am finding it really hard :(

Any advise?

Thanks

he's not being destructive by nibbling its a polite way of saying i need a wee generally :)

What gizmo says is totally right, i have learnt not to try and persevere when mine get fidgity as i have now been wee'd on too mnay times. Have you tried having them both out togehter? They may feel more comfortable this way. Some piggies dont like being cuddled and some do, i have a little girl who hates it, she crys the whole time she is out and trys to escape and head for the cage the whole time, where as my other 2 will sit with me for hours.

I had a girl who used to overly groom my clothing, you could try putting on an old hoody or jumper that you wear while holding your pigs. I have two girls that really dont like sitting still and just love exploring. While they may grow out of it if they're young it may just be their personality. One of my girls is two and she's alot happier wandering around and climbing up on me than sitting still being cuddled. Sometimes its just their personality nothing against you.

i agree with gizmo and toffee.

nibbling is a sign they need the toilet.
i also have a piggy who hates cuddles and will try anything including jumping to get away. and others who will sit quite happily for cuddles.

having them out together or using a cuddle sack or towel might help them feel more safe and secure to :)

Thank you so much! I had no idea he needed the toilet. I feel so bad now.

He has never gone to the toilet on me before. I will watch in future and when he does I will put him in the run. I have tried to get them out together, but Milo kept trying to run off and was paying no attention to Max.

I am glad it is not just me. I kept reading about people who had piggies run over to them and sitting for hours and I wondered - why don't mine do that?

don't feel bad punshment is usually swift wet and suprisingly warm :o

:)

When my pigs need to pee, they get all over the place. Starts to jump and squeak. I did not understand this at first so I got pig pee all over me.mallethead

Animals have so many different personalities, my one girl will not stay still for long, but you can't take this personal. Maybe they just like to be around you, but not so much the holding part. I have one girl who loves to cuddle and the other one just wants to run around. x)
