Okay, so yesterday I got a 3 month old abby baby and shes a joy but has so much energy. When I brought my other two girls home they where 2 years old and never this hyper. Even now the only time they get worked up is when you go to pick them up.
My baby piggie(I dont have a name for her yet) bites a lot too. I wrap her up in a towel and hold her and shes ALWAYS trying to get out of the towel(Rusty and Lillith LOVE being held in towels.) When I set her down on my bed shes a little wirlwind. She tries jumping off the bed, hiding underneath stuffed animals, chewing everything.
Is this normal?

Thinking back, I know that when mine were babies they were into everything and seemed absolutely crazy hyper. I'm sure they will calm down eventually. It sounds like they intend to have lots of fun. They're all different!

Okay thats good to know that yours have calmed down, I was kinda worried lol! Thank you! :))

my 2 girls were loopy! Bertie was always very solemn, and well behaved. I should just try stroking her and not picking her up as much. I found that mine thought every time I stroked them they were going to be handled, so raced round the cages like little steam engines. so sometimes I just stroked them and left it at that... I am sure she will calm down...eventually....xx

Oh yes it's normal! When I went down to the rescue last week there were three babies in together (about 6-8 weeks old I think) you'd of thought there was a herd of elephants in there the way they charged around, they were so cute, they all looked identical. The rescue owner still hadn't worked out how to tell them apart.
The chewing is working out if things are edible, hopefully she'll grow out of it. I've found abbys are often hyper and like to nibble! I have to make sure I put an apron or towel over me when I hold my foster pig Gus, he'll eat my clothes if I let him!

my 5 year old piggie died a couple of weeks ago, and that left my 2 year old one alone.. female... so we bought a 8 week old female to live with the 2 year old one. and yes she is hyper.. jumping over everything. but mainly they get on well together.. been a couple now for 2 weeks.

lol i think yes! I loved watching Oscar when he was a baby, but sadly i couldnt get many piccies of him as he was just too fast zooming about! Enjoy it x

Mine were crazy-hyper as babies too! I have also heard opinions that abys tend to be high-strung in terms of temperament... I did have one aby, and we named her Frenzy as she was such a crazy little bundle of energy! She did settle down quite a bit when she grew up, but was definitely always our most wired guinea pig.

Hahah okay that's good know! Thanks! :)
She's still very hyper, if I put her on the floor for floor time she will whiz around get into stuff come running at me and climb all over me and than run away lol. I've never seen anything like this before!
Or she will sit in the middle of the floor and just start wheeking at the top of her lungs! Its so cute!
And she just started wheeking right now for no reason again, I moved and sat up, i think she saw me lol.
I am enjoying her very much!
