Just a quick question. I'm sure I have read that its not good to give guinea pigs apples too often. Can anyone confirm this, and if so, how often should they have them?
Many thanks.

That's true I believe to the acidity and can cause mouth problems. I rarely feed apples to be honest so it's most likely to be around once a month. Other members may have some other ideas.

Toby & Barney are a little bit limited in what they will eat, being fussy little boys, but one thing they love is apple. Every other day they get 1/8th of an apple between them and I hand feed it so I know that one of them isn't taking it all. The apples I use (they like pink lady ) are quite small ones. I haven't had a problem with this amount.

Give fruit (including tomatoes) not more than twice a week, and you won't have any trouble!

Mine get a slice of apple every now and then.

Mine get a slice of apple as a treat, but I never give them very much. Mine only tend to eat what they want to eat and will leave the rest behind :)
