Anyone used these for a base for cages? I'm thinking of bringing the guinea pigs into the kitchen over winter and need to find a way to build ideally two lots of 2x5 cages whilst been able to access each.

I was thinking of using this and eithe using c&c grids around the edge of clear acrylic.

It's 160cm x 60cm for each shelving unit

Great idea, I don't see why not, perhaps give it an extra lining so it goes up the goes, you know what piggies are like kicking their poop around and hay for that matter.

Oh yeah sorry I would be having either c&c grids and correx or just Perspex. Thanks for replying, I thought it would make an alright stand. I'm not sure if to do this or get more c&c grids and make 2 x 2x5 C&c cages ontop of each other. I'm just worried about how stable it will be and how easy it'll be to access them

That's very true, if you have an open space to use then having piece of furniture with any shelving type is going to good for them. Plus having them indoors is always great (sadly I can't do this). There's been loads of inventive idea's on using furniture for housing for them.

I'd perhaps use perspex at the back and use grids on the sides that way you can ensure you are getting enough ventilation around.

I didn't think we could have them indoors really and I was going to do the shed up, which I still may do but I found slugs in their cage and I felt sorry for them so I thought they could go in the kitchen but there is only room really for 1 2x5 cage so I'm having to create 2 o top of each other
