Hi,

I’m having major struggles with the fibreplex tube I can’t get it to come out nor can I get it to come out the right amount - please could someone give me some simple tips / pictures would be even better. I’ve even been to the vets and the receptionist told me how to do it and I’m doing it like that but nothing is even coming out now! SOS please help!

Thank you x

Have you considered that you may be dealing with a defective tube? Could you get one from your vet?

They are normally not difficult to operate at all - just screw the wheel at the back one number further, remove the tip cap and push the movable stick end forward.

I often have the same problem!
Just been using it for Holly and quite often it wouldn't perform properly! I've had to squeeze it out into a dish then use the end of a syringe to get some in!
It could be defective tubes too as this one seems to want to go saying as it revolves down! Thinking of going on to just using Critical Care as she doesn't really like the texture of the Fibreplex anyway!

I notice when I use it, it all seems to squirt into his mouth in 1 go. Don’t know if it’s supposed to do that or come out gradually. I also find it quite hard to push it out, luckily my boy loves it & is waiting eagerly so I take my hand off him a second to give it a good push. Is there anyone at home who can help you administer the dose?

I prefer to mix it with a bit of syringe feed or water for those piggies that do not like having it given directly. That also gives me better control as what is coming out.

@Teddy-Boys I'm sometimes a bit heavy handed with Fibreplex and end up squirting out 1ml all in one go. To stop myself doing it I only turn the wheel to halfway between the numbers, give the pig it, then turn it to the number for the second squirt. Then they're not getting it all in one go.

Only just seen this for some reason but I tried it tonight & it worked great. Never thought of that, good to know I won’t risk choking him by accidentally squirting it all at once!

I can't get my boy to eat it and I don't really want to force feed it when I'm already force feeding him meloxicam and antibiotic twice daily as well as a few force feeds of Recovery each day too :(

none of mine have liked it & i've always struggled with it, don't think i've successfully finished off a tube yet
i just end up getting messy (them & me) & wasting the majority of it.

i've had more joy with the supreme recovery sachets... Grace was really poorly at Christmas & she was happily putting her head in the egg cup i was using to mix this in, pretty much snatching the spoon off of me to get at it!

Supreme Science Recovery for Small Animals

Viovet was also the cheapest for this when i was looking too 10x sachets £16 (plus £3 P&P if under £29 order total)

Just bought this one online too for wee Holly. Hoping she likes it as much as the C&C.
