Anyone Use Litter In Your Piggie Cages?

Curious if litter is ok to use in cages and what types are safe.

I believe litter is a no no for piggies. It is dangerous if ingested and very dusty too. Piggies don't need litter, there are plenty of bedding alternatives

I have used both wood based and paper based cat litter in my cages for both guinea pigs and other rodents, its a very useful bedding for long haired animals. Traditional clumping and silica type cat litter is a big no however.
