Anyone else flooded?

Oh no. I hope it doesn’t get in to your house.

It’s been so wet here too. I just wish it would stop raining. Roads are flooded here and my lawn is a muddy bog. Poor Chester is having to have his paws cleaned every time he goes outside. Which he’s not happy about. 😞

So do I! We will get the pump out tomorrow and see how long it takes......

The journey back from Coventry taking Son No 3 back to Uni was interesting. The first hour we did in the dry, the 2nd hour and a half was a different matter however. The A34 was flooded in places, loads of spray and quite dark (even though only 3pm) so you couldn't see the puddles in the road, the M3 was just as bad, the M27 was worse as there was more traffic and the rain was even heavier, the A31 was about the same. Pleased we have a 4 x 4 and got home safely.

We are on top of a hill so get away lightly with a few big puddles in the garden. So sorry for people who have flooded homes. Parts of Bristol are quite bad and there are warnings out for tonight as more heavy rain is expected and the river Frome is about to burst it's banks.

Thankfully I'm on a hill (same as when the Boxing Day floods hit in 2015, when most of the centre of town was underwater). The Roch is known for flooding unfortunately, as is the Irwell.

We are on a slope but our road has turned into a river at times with all this heavy rain. I think it is going to stop tomorrow and then it will be relatively dry for the next few weeks looking at the forecast.

Hope you are ok @Betsy 🤞

Another hill dweller here but the fields are sodden so there’s a lot of run off onto the roads. If we’re flooded it’s usually down to blocked drains in the village which has happened a couple times. Hope you’re ok @Betsy.

Fortunately we too are near the top of a rise, so all rainwater landing or running onto the road heads straight downhill past us. The lower part of our orchard is sodden though with standing puddles. Yesterday there was several inches of water in our cellar- still that's not as bad as Nov 2019 when we'd only just moved in and the water was nearly a foot deep!

I hope everybody remains OK over the next few days 🙏🤞; yesterday the weather forecast showed more heavy rain moving east along the Channel falling on the south and southeast - possibly as far as us in the west midlands, but I hope not as the local forecast said it is going to be dry and cold...

The River Stour has broken it's banks really badly. The flood plain for it is about 3 miles away from the river and it was occupying all of those 3 miles yesterday. Nature knows. It may not be very often that all the flood plain is needed but it clearly has been this time.

York on Tuesday. River Ouse was much wider than usual !

River Derwent at Stamford Bridge was occupying a field, almost up to the A166, and part of the car part.

Fortunately our house is 600 feet above the Vale of York but the duck pond was very high.
That is a very familiar sight for me, we sailed up and down that river for many years
