Peanut thinks it's funny to keep flipping his food bowl over every time I fill it up,I'm wasting loads of pellets because they won't eat them off the cage floor.
I bought a flat bottom bowl wider at the bottom which seemed to work for a while but now he has started doing it again.
Anybody any ideas what I can do or what I could make to stop him doing this?

Why won't they eat pellets off the floor. 😒

I scatter feed my five. They have a small handful of pellets between the 5 of them.

Maybe try a very heavy ceramic bowl, perhaps one which is larger than strictly necessary to ensure that if is heavy enough. Other than that, I’m not sure - I don’t use bowls for mine and instead scatter feed pellets and veg

We only leave food bowls in the cage for about 15 minutes twice a day, while the piggies eat about 12 or 15 pellets each plus their veggies... the rest of the day, let them eat hay, is my motto! They really dont need bowls of pellets leaving in the cage permanently, just lots of hay and plenty drinking water. I find they are a bit more respectful of the pellets and bowls if they only turn up for a brief time as a limited daily vitamin and mineral boost :)

I have a heavy Mason and cash bowl with a 'skirt' at the bottom. None of mine have ever tipped it yet. Sorry the skirt is a bit covered in the picture 20200429_183449.webp
(Oh and mine won't eat off the floor either!)
