I got my two boars this year from someone whose child did not want them and they did not get any attention. I got them in summertime when it was fairly dry and mild.

However, winter is approaching and I was wondering how to house them over the winter? They currently live outside in a large hutch with a large run and seem to be very happy outdoor piggies. I love just sitting and watching them from the window x):(|)

I could bring them inside and create some sort of housing for them indoors. Or should I insulate the hutch? And when should I bring them in if that is the best thing to do and what sort of housing should I provide? Can I let them outside in their run and hutch during the day if it is mild and bring them in in the evening? Sorry for being clueless but as a child I had piggies and we kept them outside and just wrapped the hutch in insulation and plastic sheeting but I am not thinking that that is actually adequate. I would appreciate any ideas or photos of set-up :)

Personally, if you can bring them indoors, I would.
Many people keep their piggies outdoors all year round without problems and the piggies are climatised to it - the problems only arise by putting them outdoors permanently after they've been inside.
Members will give you advice on keeping them warm, heatpads, extra hay etc. but as I said, if you have the room inside, bring them in if you can :))

Yes if I can sort it out for them to be inside then I will. These piggies were brought indoors into the conservatory in winter before I got them. I just need to know when... I'm guessing it is when the frost starts?
