Hello!

I am thinking of making an indoor piggy house out of a wooden vivarium that we have.

It has plenty of ventilation so no worries there, Was just wondering if you guys who've done DIY houses protected their wood at all?

I don't want the viv ruined at all in case it's needed in an emergency by my snakes (extremely unlikey but would still like to protect it.)

Was maybe thinking of making a tray of somekind to sort of line it? Will try post a picture for you Xx

Correx base :-)

teacratepackaging.co.uk sell it cheaply and its perfect for lining wood my hutch has it :-)

this is what it looks like

this is old tatty correx that has been used from an old pen so its messy but it gives you the idea :-)

most members on here with CC cages use correx and theirs looks a lot prettier than mine

Estate agents boards are made out of correx - you might be able to blag some free from a local estate agent - they often have used boards that just get stored out back - thats where I got mine from.

The only concern id have with a vivarium is ventilation

cages like this one despite having a mesh lid do not offer enough ventilation for piggies (this is a temp home for my sow trio while their mansion hutch is being done up)
