Livvann
New Born Pup
Noticed Jamie’s nuggets hadn’t gone this morning which is very odd and then noticed very worrying poos (picture attached).
Got an emergency vet appointment and have been given:
Loxicom 0.5ml once a day (I asked for dog Metacam but only cat Metacam was authorised)
Fibreplex 1ml 3 times a day
Emeprid (gut stimulant) 0.7ml twice a day
Recovery feed and lots of syringes
At the vets he had a Metacam and gut stimulant injection.
Since being home (4:30pm) he’s had some pepper, tiny bits of hay and grass and around 4/5 ml of recovery feed.
He’s really not himself and it’s absolutely heartbreaking to see him like this. He really struggles when taking the critical care and then eventually stops chewing after around 0.6ml so I have to put him back in his cage to chill out and then he’ll chew again.
He looks to possibly have impaction and this was my suspicion when seeing this morning poos. Vet said his tummy was very soft so wasn’t worried. He hasn’t pooped since around midday.
Any tips/advice/guidance, absolutely anything would be appreciated! If it’s his time to go, that’s okay, I just don’t want him in any pain or discomfort.
