Hey!
I’m hoping to fly to the UK for a few weeks in July, to surprise my mum and family for her birthday. It all depends on if I can afford the flights.. BUT if I can, Do we have any meet-ups or fairs between maybe the 13th July and start of August? I’ll be in Essex, but I’ll probably get a hire car so can travel :D

I don't think anythings planned at the moment but I'm sure someone could arrange a meet. Would be great to meet you :)

TEAS in Northampton are usually having an open day around that time.

I am linking in @furryfriends (TEAS) for you.

@Hannah_xx it would be lovely if we could get a meet arranged if and when you come to the UK. But ... Please have a think about how much travelling you are prepared to do while you are in the UK and if it is better to do this by road or rail .

It'd be great if you could attend a TEAS event ... but a road trip from Exeter to TEAS would be 3 1/2 hours and nearly 200 miles one way .

We have had a few meets in Salisbury... and one in Scotland which have been very successful...but only attended by the members who can get to these places easily . We find the most well attended meets have been in Birmingham because this City is central to the UK and people can (hopefully) get discounted rail tickets if booked on advance .

@Veggies Galore , I think you misread Hannah's post. She's going to be in Essex, which is much more doable by train (or car) to Northampton.
Be great if something were on then, I'd try to come along

Northampton is just off the M1 and usually pretty doable from Essex (depending on where you are). But it is the closest of any piggy events to you; the others are all further West or North.

Thank you for the considerations! I’ll probably get a hire car anyway to visit friends easily etc. And in Australia I’m use to very long distance travel..however it’s much more pleasurable than the U.K. roads

Just looked on the map and it’s 2.12hrs away from southend, so do-able depending on how busy I am with family etc.
would love to meet some members.

That is right from the far end of Essex...
Please count in possible traffic jams on the M25 around London and slow traffic on the M1; they are some of the busiest motorways in the UK. Saturday is usually not the worst day of the week although coming home the M25 can have queues.

Yes, in fact I’m slightly further than southend but thought I best not say exactly where..
Yes the M25 is horrendous! How I DONT miss that!
Shame there is nothing closer to Essex.
Getting the train is an option, takes almost 3hrs by train.
Perhaps I’ll take my mum away for the weekend up there to make it more worthwhile the journey.. I’ve never been to northerhampton, is there countryside?

It may not be do-able, but let’s hope.

Just returning to the Forum after a very cold and very wet week in the UK.
I will be back in the UK for the first couple of weeks in July, and spending that time split between south Kent and London, so maybe a London meet up would be possible if we have other members around that area?
