I'm just hoping for some experiences ideas from anyone who has already been through what I'm about to embark on!
I currently have 4 sows, 2 are about 18 months old and I successfully bonded them with two babies about 5 months ago. So I have 4 happy piggies who live together and go about their business with no problems at all. The bonding experience itself at the time was a white knuckle ride but I'm glad I stuck at it, it was well worth it.
But things are about to change! Tonight I'm picking up 2 more females who are unwanted. These girls are around 4 months old. As I have explained I have successfully bonded before but now I'm about to start again I'm getting nervous! Bonding 4 was one thing, now I have 6 to bond! I love my piggies and I have plenty of space for them both outside and inside so if all else fails the new additions could have their own home but I would like them all together really! Has anyone been through similar themselves? What were your outcomes? Any tips for bonding so many piggies? Do ages make any difference? Any experiences would be interesting to me! Thanks :o) the pics are of the newbies I'm collecting later … just coz baby pigs are so cute!

Aww they are beautiful! Good luck. Am tagging in @Wiebke she is the bonding Queen and has a large herd of piggies

So here are my original four girls. I got the big black one, Pookie and her sister, Peanut along with a third (Pickle) who sadly died earlier this year, for my wedding anniversary last year, so they are nearly two. After Pickle died we were all very sad and decided after a couple of months to get another sow to live with our two....but we couldnt bring home just one and leave her sister behind so we bought them both back! So then we had the four! Theres about 15 months between them, Pookie is the dominant pig but she was also very loving towards the babies when we got them. Peanut wasnt so happy but they sorted out the hierarchy pretty quick and theyre the best of friends! We stuck with the P theme throughout, so named the babies we got this year Pippin and Peaches! And now we've adopted the other two we have named them Popcorn and Pringle! Funny story about the names......I called Peanut her name as she looked just like a Peanut, and my 10 year old at the time wanted to name her piggy Pickle so I told my other daughter she had to choose a P name so they could be like the Charmed sisters! 3Ps! Thus Pookie, Pickle and Peanut. So now it is a famiuly tradition that the guineas have to have a P name. (And that is also why I am most definately stopping at 6.....I'm running outta P names! ) :oD

Only thing I can say is if there's problems then adding a neutered boar to the group worked with me when the girls wouldn't bond.

Aww they are all gorgeous. I love pookie. Well done you for taking on unwanted piggies. That's how I got my 2 as they were unwanted.
