Hi!
Ive realized recently that their are small ants crawling around everywhere. Theirs not that many(but still alot) but i keep on seeing them on my guinea pigs houses and in their food(and expecially on their fruits and veggies, i throw out the food right when i see ants going onto it) . I have a 6 year old and a 4 month old, if they eat the ants will anything happen? I'm not sure what kind of ants they are but if they are a type that bites what will happen if they get bitten?

Also are spiders harmless? The only venomess spiders here are the black widows. Their are lots of spiders where i live, some are really big. Besides for the black widow are they harmfull to guinea pigs?

You need to ensure veg isn’t being left in the cage for long. Ants are always looking for food And it’s the veg they are being drawn to

I would be taking a trip to a DIY store and looking for some ant traps.
Enclosed traps which contain the ants (not anything that involves spreading or spraying chemicals around) are what you need.
Explain that you need them to use in an area where you have pets.

Ants should not be attracted to hay, so maybe just hand feed small amounts of fresh food for a while until the problem is under control.
