Today I saw 5 ants in the guinea pig cage and a lot outside of the cage. The cage in indoors, but i know that ever summer there are ants everywhere in this house. I'm literlly writing this with an ant on my computer! They are just regular black ants no fire ants or anything. Will they do any harm if the guinea pig eat them?:soz:

Buy a trap. Il show you a photo. Trust me, just had an ant problem, and has gone in 24 hours.

Do not let your pigs anywhere near this product

But if the pigs do eat them will they get sick?

Do you know any in the US i don't live in the UK

I didnt let me pigs out for floor time until i have disposed of the trap and mopped the area to be 100% sure

I dont like killing any animal, but ants were getting in my kitchen, hundreds of them. Nothing else worked

Make sure no ants that have been to the poisin, go over to your pigs, just incase. Move your pigs well away in a non ant problem room, then move back when ants have been rid of

We’ve started getting them on the work surface! I’m not sure where they’re coming in from is the problem. Do you think I could put one outside and another on the floor somewhere?

Thats what i did, just not anywhere near your animals, i opted for this bait box, because cats visit my house outside and i didnt want them eating powder, or any powder getting on me and then to my pigs.

The ants are soo attracted to the bait they literally only hang around that. Next morning, not 1 ant.

The packet instructions tell you everything.

Mine were coming from under the laminate flooring near the front door( little gap)i plan on silicon gunning it soon

As a temporary barrier in an emergency (doesn't kill the ants and you need to keep repeating) spray some antibac around the area where you don't want the ants to go. When it dries out you need to repeat it. My lovely late Mum told me that one and it does work.

Every year we get ants. The little ant traps (bait boxes) do work best. I put them in strategic positions near an ant trail. They love it, they take a bit of it back to their nest and then they all die.

You need to use Permethrin based ant killer, it’s made from chrysanthemums and is not harmful to children or pets. But always keep any poisons away from pets and children. Vaseline thickly smeared on the legs of hutches works well for creepy crawlies and slugs too. Our boys don’t seem in the least bit bothered by ants when they are out on the grass or bunny ark and we have lots of ants in the garden, there are no UK ants which are harmful to humans or animals apart from the odd bite. Live and let live! 😆
