Hi,

I've just noticed several ants wondering up and down one of the hutches, also going in and out of it as well. Is there anything I can do to stop it? I don't want them making a nest in with my piggies!

Thanks

Depending on the type of ants they are unlikely to make a nest in with your piggies.
Make sure you remove all traces of fresh food as this is the thing most likely to attract them.

If the situation gets really bad then you can place your hutch on bricks (one under each leg) and place each brick in the middle of a large saucer (the type that go under plant pots) filled with water. This should deter the ants.

Great idea.

Thank you, I'll have to try that if they come back.

I've cleaned the hutch completely and they just kept coming back, so I decided to take the cover off and found loads of loads them living under it! Brushed off as many as I could and I've moved the hutch away for now so hopefully they wont come back.
