It was a beautiful day here today - not too hot, but pleasantly warm, with a light breeze.
Perfect weather for lawn time.

I don't know about you, but lawn time always makes me feel like such a great guinea pig owner.

The fact that I took the time to assemble the huge metal run that takes up half of our garden, the way I no longer use any form of chemicals on my lawn whatsoever (even though it is filled with weeds), the fact that I leave long unkempt patches of grass just for the guinea pigs - all of this makes me feel happy inside.

Of course the true reward for all of this is the way that my guinea pigs just embrace every moment of their lawn time freedom.
Seeing them frisk happily in their huge run outside in the fresh air, in between stopping to snack on our delicious (pesticide free, weed filled) grass, is the stuff that dreams are made of.

And of course as any good owner (which I clearly am) would do, I decided to capture these joyous moments to share with all of you (some of whom may not be as wonderful as me).

Feel free to pin people - this is the stuff that guinea pig dreams are made of.

Wait.
What's that?
You don't see any guinea pigs?

Well look closely at that tiny wooden house in the far right hand corner.
See the brown blob in the doorway?
That is Ruby, who is sitting in front of Lucy and Eddi.
All 3 of my guinea pigs are huddled in the smallest wooden house at the far end of the run.

I sometimes wonder why I bother

We want 'frisking' pigtures! They can be very uncooperative can't they :))

My lawn is similarly weedy and is mown 'square by square', which isn't that attractive, but I feel bad if a use a non piggy mower or dig up a dandelion, as I don't want to deprive them. The only trouble is getting them out of the run. Weibke and others have trained them to hop into a carrier. i don't know how they do it............mine want to stay out all night.

Ahhh envy of garden!
And don't worry, we forgive you about the lack of piggies in the picture. Here we all know that they do as they please :))

Awww, brave little lions hunting for vegetables!
