so very sorry its me yet again !

well Glenn isnt keen on the GPs on lino in a run incase it spills over onto the carpet, Ive said it wont with newspaper on top then fleeces but hes not convinced.

he has suggested we buy 6 large storage boxes cut holes in them all about 1" off the ground and place plastic drainage type tubing (about 4" long) through them connecting all the boxes together. this should give them a run of about 4ft by 6ft ish. then line them with news paper and towels/fleeces then have one storage box with a lid on filled with hay

hope you understand what i mean ! is this viable ? honesty please !

is use a combo of boxes with one side removed to make one whole tray on the bottom of the c&c cage

Sorry but it's not a good idea - one, they need open space to run circuits and popcorn, and 2 the ventilation will be poor and could lead to respiratory problems.

All you need is a 'kick board' a few inches high around the bottom of the run or cage, in C&C people use correx plastic for this and it works well and can be cut to size :)

I was going to suggest correx as that can be made into a tray with a lip. You can do that with lino too (i'll see if i can find a link).

If you ring a signmakers locally and ask them for an offcut slightly larger than the run size they will normally sell one to you for a few quid. That's what we have done about 5 times now. Then you can score, bend and glue it. It takes my hubby about 15 minutes to do it and yours sounds just as handy.

have you been to http://www.guineapigcages.com/howto.htm ? if not have a look. Coroplast is correx and you can get the grids from costco or you can use your run idea for the top.

thanks so much for your honesty, will look into the ideas you have suggested

fab site lisajazz, I'm going to order some cube bits, then when i know the exact size get some correx !

glad you are going down the c&c route they are very easy to make, i would have used correx but we only have a two seater car so it is rather limiting when you want two weeks of shopping let alone something bigger than a person!

Yes my hubby got ours home in his car but he does have a picasso so it's looooooong.

C&c's give you loads of scope and if it's not working you can change it, or add to it. It's very flexible and my husband has no problem putting them together.

The cheapest place to get the grids is costco as they are £10 a pack. You pay to join but they have some brilliant stuff there it's well worth the joining fee. We joined for grids but have since bought loads of stuff there. It does depend if there is one in your area though - we just got a costco end of last year.

Some B&Q's have them instore i think but their website has stopped selling them for delivery.
