Sparklepetal
Teenage Guinea Pig
Hazelnut will be off to the vet in the morning. When my daughter and I went to put the girls back in the hutch after playpen time this evening, she found a bit of hay buried in the corner of Nutty's eye. It took a lot of attempts to get it out, not helped by Trudy rampaging up and down on our laps as she wanted to go Straight Home With a Pea Flake Thank You! Once I had shut her in the hutch I managed to hold Hazelnut's head still enough for my daughter to pull the hay out. It was a seed husk. Poor Nutty went very quiet once it was out and pillowed her head on my arm as if to say she knew we were trying to help. I was relieved to find the vet's hadn't closed and I could call and get an appointment. I hope she is not badly scratched and will allow me to administer drops. Having checked on the website it seems that I am allowed in both the waiting room and consulting room now, so that will make things easier for everyone!
Not a good day for Hazelnut's young master either as he got hit on the head in PE and 'went black and confused for a moment', so keeping a close eye on him too!
