last night a new fiesta with 5 youngster in it went over the cliff at blackgang chine luckly they were not killed but the amount of cars going over is getting ridiculous, we might not get motorway crashes here ( we dont have one) we only have a short dual carriageway as well but the cliffs seem to be a place to be wary of, :police:

the Isle of wight lose about 10 plus youngsters every year in road accidents we have one of the highest road death in youngsters in the country 2 of my boys Ryan ánd Liam have lost poeple they know, and what with Mick teaching them to drive he worrys constantly one will get injured or killed he taught, selfish sods, he teaches them more then normal about safe driving and is going to help out as an instructor with a mother of a lad who died in a scheme along with police of which he use to be one, and firebrigade and driving examiner going round high schools with testements and films etc, mind you saying that the last car to go over a cliff was an old man of 70 plus who hit the wrong peddle and misjudged the edge he was fine though just bruised , think our coast line is full of fallen cars

Gosh thats horrendous. Poor Mick worrying about them too. Maybe they should raise the age limit for driving (but then thats not fair on the sensible kids..) or make schoolkids watch videos of the aftermath of an accident.. it seems to be getting worse. I have seen young lads racing around in suped-up Saxos with all the kit on - I don't know how they can afford the cars and the insurance but its total madness!

making school kids watch videos is all part of the head on scheme Mick going to get involved with, one of the mums lost her son last year is leading it all, I often wodner about how they can afford it I pay for liams insurance as I refue to let him go illegal, I did it for the 2 older boys as well until they get good jobs, they are thinking of raising age limit and/ or size of engine they can drive for the first 2 years we shall see

Flippin' Heck.. Been to Blackgang Chine myself when I was younger. How are police presence in Isle of Wight? Could that be another reason for the extra risk taking.. Thinking they might get away with reckless driving? Saying that you know, we have an awful lot of young deaths due to teenage drivers in the northeast and I guess it would be more if we ere next to some pretty dangerous cliffs.

I think you're right about the uinsurance thing too. I passed my test at 19 and mum put me on her car )there's a certain amount of responsibility already because you don't want to crash your mams car!) and I bought my own when I was working at 22 - much more mature and friends arn't that impressed by daft driving decisions - they just skit you for being a bad driver!

the police over here are hot on driving offences crikey theres cameras every where most of ourt friends re police officers as mick used to be one at Shankllin, and having boys of my own one passed last aug you get a little more closer to the problem, I've now got 3 boys on the road 2 to go and it worrys me sick and know most of his mates and am always going on at them to drive slow and not take chances and even said if anything happens to liam because of them I'd hunt them down lol no sure what thaey made of that looked a little white though,
