Turns out my inexperienced friend has decided to breed her guineapig. I'm angry at her for it and have already told her about risks etc etc. So she has two boars and two sows. Both bonded pairs. She took 1 boar out and placed it with a sow. He has been with her for a few days and rang me for information about if that's long enough. But I'm concerned that that boar cannot go back with his boar friend?

I guess she could try them back together and see what happens, but she should be prepared for the bonding to fail.
To be honest if this is the case and your friend is so irresponsible it might be a good idea to suggest she surrender the boars to a rescue to prevent a breeding repeat.

I know and I must of shouted at her for hours! I am trying to convince her to give the boars to me and keep the sows. Unless she got pregnant! Then I will suggest that she gives them to me as well since she has no idea about pups. Honestly she's learnt her lesson but arghh! I am recommending to her that she checks out this forum

Let's very much hope that at least one of the poor sows has not been near her season and that they have not been together long enough! :(

Boars generally don't take it well being stuffed back together after having been with a sow (it is a demotion in status) and a fail of the bond is the rule. :(

What an idiot and what a mess! Poor, poor piggies!

Didn't even know she had them! She is soo irresponsible and not educated about guineapigs at all! Trust me I screamed at her for hours and made sure the pigs were alright! (I drove round to check on them)!

Please read our guides at the top of the pregnancy section; they are only visible once you have signed up, so you can make sure that the girls get what they need.

It's so frustrating when people don't listen or do research.Well done for trying to help the piggies.Hope everything goes ok
