Hi guys

I am about to build the two ramps my setup needs. One to allow access between both floors of the hutch, and one to allow access from the hutch to the run.

The heights are as follows:

Between floors: 24 inches
From hutch to run: 12 inches

For the 1st in particular the angle needs to be fairly steep to fit well into the hutch. Can someone with a fairly steep ramp which the piggies are comfortable with either measure the angle, or take a picture which shows the angle well so I can get an idea what the piggies are going to be happy with.

Many thanks

David

I find my piggies like very gentle inclines on their ramps, and even then i have a couple that just won't tolerate them

For the steep angle steps might work better then a ramp - has done for me in the past. I built a 3 sided cube(1 cube each side), put the top step in a third of the way down from the top and attached it to all three sides using wire ties. The second and lower step went in a third of the way from the bottom, attached to 2 sides, but not the back of the cube. It sat out about 3 inches from the back and front of the cube. I used chloroplast for the steps.

No pics as my laptop crashed just after i changed the set-up.
Below is a doodle of my steps, though I don't know how much sense they make to anyone bar me.

Best of luck with it

Thanks for that. It made sense just fine :)

I was considering making the one inside the hutch into two parts, with a flat piece in the middle. This will allow for a less steep angle and might be easier for them to deal with.

Hopefully they will learn to tolerate them. Will be the only way upstairs, or outside to their run.

Anyone else?
