My 4.5 year old dental boy, Pablo Picasso, goes in for another anesthetized molar trim again tomorrow morning, and it’s making my heart feel heavy.
He was just anesthetized on February 5th for his last trim. Does this ever get any easier? This will be his 4th time under general anesthesia since August…
Realistically, how long can a piggy live going through constant dental disease/burring routine?

Quick note- I have a wonderful vet who is highly sought after where I live, and does specialize in dental for guinea pigs and bunnies, and I truly do trust her judgement!
…However, I find myself jealous reading about conscious dentals on this forum… we do not do conscious dental here in the states as far as I know? Unless I’m mistaken?

He has such a vivacious desire for life, so I’m genuinely curious how others who have dealt with ongoing dental disease in their piggies have managed? How long have/were yours able to withstand the stress of weekly vet appointments and frequent anesthesia/support feedings etc?

The ongoing health ailments have really begun to take a toll on myself as well, but I love my babies to no end and want them to thrive as long as possible!

One of our piggies had lots of dentals under GA with no issues for back teeth

Does he get back to eating normally inbetween dental?
