Little old Crunchie was back at the vet today after having a bit of a dip.. all the weight she gained was slowly dropping off and she was a little quiet, being selective with her veggies.

Her bladder is a little uncomfortable again ( she has ongoing IC) however she was peeing alot whilst there and has very dilute urine. The vet now suspects kidney disease and miss Crunchie will be going for bloods on Tuesday.

To say I'm heartbroken is an understatement. My vet is very upfront with me, and said she expects this is likely what is happening to her lately, and that with piggies this often comes in cycles- unlike cats and dogs.

When I finally managed to stop crying and cuddling her , crunchie had a short half hour on the floor with some homemade forage. She is still bright and enjoying her hay, however pellets and veg aren't pulling any interest today. I simply need to see how she does from now, and await Tuesdays blood results. If she continues to deteriorate or doesn't perk back up and the tests show her kidneys are bad, I won't give her a prolonged suffering end to her life as she deserves better than that. Trying to stay positive, but the signs are staring us in the face.

For now, here she is enjoying a wander

Sorry to hear Crunchie isn't well. I know it's difficult but try not to worry too much until you know the results of the blood tests.
Sending healing vibes from me and the herd. xx

It's so hard not to but I appreciate I need to try stay positive. She's 8 in a few weeks so I should be prepared for these kinds of things but you never really can be !

Wow, that is an amazing age for a piggy. You must be a wonderful piggy slave. x

Oh she is an absolute beauty, what a lovely coloured coat. So sorry she is poorly, hope the blood test come back negative and she picks up soon x

What can I say.
You are in control of a beautiful piggie that clearly is over loved as many are.
Enjoy time with her and continue to tell her that whatever happens she is deeply loved and if she see a beautiful light that will burst into a rainbow colours then run along and play with others and you see her again one day.
Dig Deep x

Aw bless her. At least she is living in the moment and is happy and carefree. Hope all goes well on tuesday.

Awwww Adele I am really sorry, have a huge hug. I am hoping for positive news after tests. You have always cared for your piggies so well and are a testament to them. Miss Crunchie is in the best of hands.

Have a huge hug and love to your ginger stunning girl x x

Bad mum fell asleep last night after my last meds and feed.. she woke up at 1.30am, went and made me veggies then plonked me on the bed! I ate more than I did yesterday morning so mum said that was good. This morning my weights up by 1g.. mum says as long as it doesn't go down, that's ok!

Bless her. What a beautiful girl. Me and the piggies send you both lots of hugs and good wishes. Keep strong but cry if you need to, we've all been there at some point. She knows how much she is loved.
