I have 3 sows, Amber, Edie and Marmalade. Edie and Marmalade go upstairs and downstairs in their two storey hutch but Amber will only stay downstairs and the downstairs bit is just like a run. I've only seen Amber go upstairs twice, and if I put her upstairs she just goes down again. I know you might say she'll go upstairs when she wants to but I've been down to check on them just before I go to bed and she's always still downstairs at about 10.30pm no matter what the weathers like. She has food, hay and water downstairs and she does have a hut but I take it out to clean it twice a week. She can go upstairs because I've seen her, and the other 2 sows don't really stop her, but if she goes upstairs she never stays long before going downstairs. I'm worried about when it gets colder in the winter because I don't think she'd go upstairs then.

If you have seen her use the ramp and go upstairs before, I wouldn't worry. I often find Ena out in the living accommodation of the hutch whilst the other 3 are in the sleeping area. I am sure that if Amber is feeling a little chilly, she will soon go and snuggle up with Marmalade and Edie.

I know how you feel though but I have seen Ena in the sleeping area and the other 3 do not push her out but I think she just prefers it in the other side.

She may well go upstairs very late at night when you are not looking :)
