Hi! I've recently got two new piggies and I bought them a 4x2 C&C cage from kaveecage. Annoyingly, after shelling out I've realised that the grids are 8x8 rather than the recommended 9x9. I've added additional cardboard walls inside for a temporary measure (also as apparently I've found my babies can slip right through the bars).

Being very cautious now not to shell out again for another cage that isn't suitable, would these amazon basics grids be a good replacement? I can see they're 9x9, but I want to be 100% sure I'm buying something safe for them this time! https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0735CJ...colid=1Q6U844X3B6YE&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it&th=1

Obviously will still keep the cardboard barriers up until they're a bit bigger and no longer able to slip through the bars! (Any recommendation on how old they should be to no longer be able to fit through a 9x9 grid?)

Thank you! Endlessly grateful to this forum for all the advice! Absolutely invaluable!

Yes they look like 9 holes. Just make sure if they’re boars that you make them a 2x5. I’d actually make sows a 2x5 as well. More spacious ☺️
Otherwise hello and:wel: We’d love to see photos (LOTS) and know more about your babies.

The grids in the link are fine

It is going to depend on the individual piggy size - but at six months old they shouldn’t be able to fit through any more

Amazing thank you both! :) Will happily set Waffle and Patch (sows) up with a photo thread as soon as they're comfortable enough to stay put in the non blanketed part of the cage while I'm looking at them :D
