(sorry for the long paragragh) alright so i'm 15 with two guinea pigs, i take very good care of them but my mother doesn't seem to let me have much control when feeding them and i feel like she over feeds them, they have a litter box where hay is in and she gives them like 5 handfuls of hay every 2 - 3 hours even tho i know they have to have hay by their side 24/7, i just feel like it's very unnecessary with the amount she gives them and too much hay goes to waste causing it all to cost more and more money because of how fast they run out of it. the hay starts to stack up quickly in the litter box. when it comes to veggies and fruit, i also feel like she feeds them way too much of it, she cuts up like 4 different veggies/fruit and lots of it, to the point where it's plate size if that makes sense? and she feeds them this much twice a day, day and night. i saw her give them like 8 handfuls of pellets every 3 hours also, even tho it should be one bowl a day. it kinda annoys me because i feel like they're slowly becoming obese and lots of food is going to waste and my mom gets mad when i try to take control of it all. i just wanna know if she's way overfeeding my guinea pigs or is that a good amount of food? any help lol

Hi and welcome!

Please show your mum our food guide, which looks at all food groups in detail and has got a picture of a sample veg diet.
Fresh hay 2-3 times a day is perfectly enough. You can opt for timothy hay in a rack and some cheaper soft meadow hay for a box to play, snuggle and toilet in.
Long Term Balanced General And Special Needs Guinea Pig Diets

Here is our weight guide, including how you and your mum can check whether a piggy is overweight for its size or not (feeling the 'heft'): Weight - Monitoring and Management

This is our enrichment guide. Instead of overfeeding and giving too many treats, make feeding time fun time for both of you and have a giggle together!

PS: I have moved your guide to our Food section.

if your mum feels the need to feed them this often try putting their veggies for the day in a box and just giving them a few at a time throughout the day.
