After seeing a lot of people using the Snugglesafe microwave pad I ordered one for Beans for her recovery.. but I was so disappointed with it and the pigs don't seem to like it either. :mal:

It's rock solid and quite small so they can't comfortably sit/sleep on it.

So I'm looking at softer and bigger heat pads and found this;
Micro Hottie Hotties Microwave Hot Water Bottle No Gel Heat Pack Pad All Colours

Is there any reason this wouldn't be suitable for animal use? Or does anyone have any other suggestions? :roll:

I would just worry they'd chew it. Is it for indoor or outdoor use? If you have an electric supply near their accommodation then I'd highly recommend a Petnap aluminium heat pad. I bought one for an elderly and arthritic bunny but when she passed away, I brought it indoors and gave it to the piggies since my conservatory can get quite cold in winter. It's on 24/7 (now) and they LOVE it. I've got another one in my birthday wish-list as it's a squash for all 4 piggles.

As this is Switzerland, all things natural are very popular here!
Mine actually have a bag filled with cherry stones, and also a wheat bag, which I heat in the microwave.
The use them a lot here for babies, and I just sewed a PUL/fleece cover for the kids old ones.
But if you can get cherry stones or wheat then you could easily make one yourself.

It's for indoor use and I don't think they'd chew it, they've never chewed the fleece anyway...

I might try a wee makeshift one, then I can make it the exact size of their hidey :nod:
