Hi all we have just bought a much bigger double level outdoor hutch for our boys :)

I was wondering what other things beside woodshavings etc were suitable for an outside hutch as I think it will cost alot to buy the amount we would need each week.

Many thanks

I buy my woodshavings in a garden/pet supply shop, they're for horses but also suitable for rabbits/piggies, and it's only €10 for a huge bale. You could try that.

Or newspaper, shredded paper, could try fleece but have to be careful to make sure it's dry or they could get cold at night. I've started using fleece, but have vet bed in the sleeping part of the hutch because it stays dryer. It's working so far, but might get damp in winter, dunno.

Or just hay, on a thick layer of newpaper?
