Hey everyone, its feels like forever since i have posted haha.

We have done some ajusting to the spare room and I am thinking of maybe making an open C&C run for the boys as i will be spending more time in their room with some future projects. its also my craftroom hehe. Alternativly we could put them in a c&c cage as the boys are now off the floor and on 2 tables which would mean we could have a 2x8. I just worry about it being open and getting correx shipped up here is very expensive.

so, alternative base suggestions? I do have those jigsaw mat grid things that are waterproof...

Hello, I think corex is probably the best choice still, it is waterproof but also so easily wipe-able and easy to clean.

When you say you are worried about it being open, fo you have any other pets?

yeah i have cats. they dont have access to the room unsupervised and tjeir is a lock on the outside as mu Max is a very large boy and can easily open doors. that being said it only takes a split second to go wrong yah know.

Yeah, that would be a worry. It does only take one mistake or a cunning kitty.... Maybe a large Ferplast is the way to go? It's two piggies you have, yes?

Some good alternative bases would be: (Correx/coroplast is highly recommended.)
Shower curtains
There is another alternative on a youtube video... where's that link... aha!
I'm not sure if you have that in the UK... I live in the states...
Hope this helped. I have a cat too, so when I get a C&C cage I'm going to have to put a top on it. As you said, accidents can happen! Just a slip of a door, and disaster strikes...

I have lined my 5 by 2 c&c with lino, bought an offcut and I find it works really well.

yeah we have 2 boys so want to gibe as much space as possible as they will be hitting the hormonal stage any day now!

thanks for sharing that video, it is very helpful.

Lino may just be the way to go!

My piggies currently have a wooden base for their cubes made by my OH. I use puppy pads on top then fleece. Before the OH made the wood base I just used an old piece of Lino on the floor under their cubes.
