Hi All,
I'm starting to get excited as although I've been collecting bits and pieces the start of the shed revamp will hopefully start sometime in the next 2 months :-) I've decided to buy a cheap 140cm commercial cage for the first winter. I will be playing around with heating etc and thought that would be easier for keeping them warm in case it's cold while I experiment with thermostats etc. I'll then keep it for a spare and get dear old Dad to make me a more open cage based on a c&c. As he is helping me with the 10x6 shed this summer I don't want to push my luck!
Now, I was wondering whether alternating bedding with confuse the piggies or whether they'd love the variety. I love the idea of fleece/vet bed but worry about the washing and getting it dry. I love fitch as I use it for my hamsters but I'm concerned about the wastage. We already fill our refuse bins and as they are only emptied every 2 weeks I think I'd be forever at the tip. I propose to alternate between the two with perhaps more fleece etc in the warmer months. Would this be oK?
